A Boy with Down Syndrome who Found his Voice through Acting
Nicholas Moss, a 9-year-old boy from Southampton, was born with Down syndrome and did not speak until his four older sisters started taking him to beauty pageants. Not only did Nicholas enjoy participating, but he also started winning. And gradually, he began to speak.

A Winning Streak
Nicholas Moss has won over 50 beauty pageants, earning almost 100 crowns and sashes in the four years since his first competition. Inspired by her son's transformation into a confident boy after his numerous victories, Elaine Moss, a 53-year-old mother, decided to create her own competition. She invited children with disabilities to participate, including those with limited health capabilities.

A Mother's Love
Among Nicholas's titles are "Maximum," "Supreme," "Highest," and "King" of various contests. His mother, Mrs. Moss, recalls, "As a mother, I was very concerned that my son didn't speak. He never said a word, and I could never get a response from him. It was one of my daughters' ideas to take him to a beauty pageant so he could also participate. And I thought, why not? Who am I to say that his condition or gender could prevent him from doing it?"

A Heartwarming Transformation
When Nicholas first stepped onto the stage, his mother's heart melted. The child smiled and posed for photographers as if he were a model. Mrs. Moss even cried, later saying, "It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen!" Currently, Mrs. Moss, along with her four daughters, organizes beauty pageants, while her four other sons have no connection to the modeling business. Her children's beauty competitions are a combination of beauty and talent contests, aiming to become the only glittering contest in the UK.

A Symbol of Inspiration
Nicholas, who faced two heart surgeries when he was just 12 weeks old, found his voice through his newfound abilities on stage. His personality changed, and he became much more confident and sociable. Nicholas is now the face of his mother's competition. The Moss family members are confident that their little boy sets a good example for other children with similar conditions who can also come and participate in the competitions. While it may be just entertainment, here, every child feels like an individual. Beauty can be both external and internal, and Nicholas proves it with his performances.
