Nico Santos, born Nico Wellenbrink, is a German singer and songwriter professionally known as Nico Santos, Santos, or Santi.

Early Success and Breakthrough

Santos' career gained traction in 2017 after his contribution to Topic's hit single "Home" (2015). His breakthrough solo single, "Rooftop," was released the same year and became a top-five hit in German-speaking Europe, Poland, and Slovakia, as well as reaching number one in the Czech Republic. It earned numerous certifications, including triple gold from Germany's Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) and five-times platinum from Switzerland's International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI SWI).

Debut Album and Subsequent Success

Santos' debut studio album, "Streets of Gold," was released in October 2018. Along with "Rooftop," it featured moderately successful singles such as "Safe" (2018) and "Unforgettable" (2019). In May 2020, Universal Music Group released his second self-titled album, which performed well commercially. It spawned three top-ten hits on the German Singles Chart: "Better" (2019), "Play with Fire" (2019), and "Like I Love You" (2020). While the first collaboration with Lena Meyer-Landrut, the latter with Topic, "Play with Fire" notably reached number 11 in the Czech Republic. Another top-ten hit, "Would I Lie to You," followed in 2021. Collaborations and Television Appearances

Santos has collaborated with several German artists, co-writing and producing songs for the likes of Bushido, Shindy, Helene Fischer, and Mark Forster. His prominence has also been amplified by his participation in the international German song competition Free European Song Contest 2020, which he won with "Like I Love You." Additionally, he has served as a coach on "The Voice of Germany" from its ninth to eleventh seasons.

Recent Success and Continued Collaborations

In 2022, Santos once again teamed up with Topic on the track "In Your Arms (For an Angel)." The song charted on the Billboard Euro Digital Singles Sales and Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts, among others.
