Nikola Eftimov: A Multifaceted Artist and Fashion Designer
Early Life and EducationNikola Eftimov, a Macedonian artist and fashion designer, was born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Eftimov graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Skopje in 1993. He furthered his education in fashion at the Accademia Italiana in Florence, Italy, where he earned a Master's degree in 1998. His thesis explored the evolution of unconventional men's costumes over the past three centuries.
Academic Career
From 2006 to 2009, Eftimov served as a professor at the Skopje branch of Accademia Italiana. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD while lecturing at the Faculty for Art and Design at the European University-Republic of Macedonia.
Artistic Interests
Eftimov's artistic interests encompass a wide range of topics, including fashion as art, communication, and history, experimental fashion techniques, men's fashion design, fashion collection building, haute couture, and photography. His research focuses on the gender, cultural, and societal aspects of fashion.
Exhibitions and Awards
Eftimov's works have been exhibited in numerous fashion and art exhibitions. In 1997, the National University Library of Skopje recognized one of his paintings with an annual award.
Fashion Design
From 1992 to 2010, Eftimov created a series of fashion collections alongside his academic pursuits. His scientific approach proved fruitful, as he won an award in a competition organized by Coca-Cola in 2005. This victory led to the presentation of his work at a competition in Florence and a professorship at Accademia Italiana's Bangkok branch.
