On February 15, 2010, LaQuan Smith organized his first fashion show as part of New York Fashion Week in the Upper East Side. The show, titled 'Water Goddess', was attended by 75 distinguished guests, including renowned fashion journalists, buyers, and celebrities. On September 15, 2010, Smith's spring/summer collection 'A Storybook Path' showcased an extraordinary combination of fantasy, romance, and fun. This time, Smith created a collection inspired by Marie Antoinette, whom he considered a courageous muse of art and culture. The modern-day Marie lives in Manhattan and is inspired by the New York lifestyle. She is not shy and wears only couture pieces, unashamed of their luxury, shimmer, and sparkle. In the evening, her inner strength and elegance only grow, drawing inspiration from iconic figures of her eras, such as Queen Elizabeth and Cruella D'Ville, reimagined in a contemporary manner.
