Childhood and Early Career
Nikola Maksimović, a Serbian professional footballer, was born in Užice, Serbia, on November 25, 1991. He began his footballing journey at his hometown club FK Sloboda Užice, where he spent three seasons before making a significant move to one of Serbia's most prestigious clubs, Red Star Belgrade, for a transfer fee of €330,000.
Ukrainian Adventure
In early 2010, Maksimović had a trial with FC Dynamo Kyiv 2 in the Ukrainian First League. His performances caught the attention of Juventus scouts in August 2012.
Moscow Interest
In November 2012, three Moscow clubs, CSKA Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, and Spartak Moscow, expressed interest in acquiring the talented defender. Maksimović's market value was estimated to be between €2 million and €4 million.
Torino Tenure
In 2013, Maksimović transferred to Torino in the Italian Serie A. He spent three seasons with the Italian club, making significant contributions to their backline.
Conflict in Turin
Maksimović's time at Torino came to an abrupt end in the summer of 2016 due to a conflict with the club's new manager, Sinisa Mihajlovic. Maksimović refused to participate in pre-season training as a result of the dispute.
