Oscar Murillo: Columbian Football Star

Early Career

Óscar Murillo is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Mexican club Pachuca and the Colombia national team. Murillo's footballing journey began in the youth ranks of Argentinian powerhouse Boca Juniors. In 2007, he returned to his homeland and joined second-tier club Centauros Villavicencio. After a season with Centauros, he moved to Deportes Quindío, the club from his hometown.

Debut and Early Domestic Success

Murillo made his debut in the Colombian Categoría Primera A on February 15, 2009, in a match against Millonarios. His first goal for Quindío came on March 19 in a match against Real Cartagena. In 2010, he was loaned out to American club Colorado Rapids, but failed to make an appearance for the team and returned to Quindío.

Breakthrough with Deportivo Pereira

In the summer of 2011, Murillo signed for Deportivo Pereira. He debuted for his new club on August 29 in a match against La Equidad.

Atlético Nacional Glory

At the start of 2012, Murillo made a move to the prestigious Atlético Nacional. He made an immediate impact, scoring a brace on his debut against Millonarios on February 19. With Atlético Nacional, he enjoyed a successful period, winning four league titles and two Colombian Cups.

Move to Mexico and International Debut

In early 2016, Murillo transferred to Mexican club Pachuca. He made his debut in the Liga MX on January 9 in a match against Tijuana. Murillo scored his first goal for Pachuca on February 5, 2017, against UNAM Pumas. In the same year, he helped Pachuca triumph in the CONCACAF Champions League.

International Career

Murillo made his debut for the Colombia national team on March 24, 2016, in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Bolivia.
