Birth and Early Life

Nikola Ogrodníková was born on August 18, 1990, in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Early Athletics Career

Ogrodníková initially competed in heptathlon. In 2007, she won a bronze medal in the event at the European Junior Championships.

Transition to Javelin Throw

In 2017, Ogrodníková switched her focus to javelin throw. She made her debut at the World Championships, finishing 19th with a throw of 59.99 meters.

European Success

In 2018, Ogrodníková won a silver medal at the European Championships in Berlin, throwing 61.85 meters. She repeated this feat at the 2023 European Games in Poland, securing another silver medal with a throw of 61.75 meters.

Olympic Debut

Ogrodníková competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but failed to qualify for the final, finishing 16th with a throw of 60.03 meters.

Paris 2024

Ogrodníková qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. On the penultimate day of the Games, she won a bronze medal with a throw of 63.68 meters.
