Early Life and Education
Born in Ukraine, the renowned historian completed his undergraduate studies with honors in history from Lutsk State Pedagogical Institute in June 1989. Subsequently, in September 1989, he joined the Department of Ukrainian History at Ternopil National Pedagogical University as an assistant.
Academic Career
Throughout his academic journey, he has excelled in teaching various courses including Ukrainian history, historical regional studies, and political science. In March 1997, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Migration Processes among the German, Czech, and Jewish Population of Volyn Governorate (1796-1914)" at the Institute of National Relations, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In October 1999, he was promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Ukrainian History. He also held a position as Head of the Department from 2002 to 2005.
Doctoral Studies and Research
From October 2002 to November 2005, he pursued doctoral studies at the Lviv Regional Institute of Public Administration, National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. In February 2008, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled "Formation of Power Institutions in the Russian Empire in Right-Bank Ukraine (late 18th - first half of the 19th century)" at the Institute of Ukrainian Studies, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
International Collaborations and Fellowships
Beyond his academic pursuits, he has actively engaged in international collaborations with scholars from Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Russia, Canada, and Japan. He has received fellowships from the Kasa im. Józefa Mianowskiego Fundacji Popierania Nauki (Poland, 2003) and the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta (2007).
Research and Publications
His research contributions have been recognized and published in esteemed institutions such as the National Library of Ukraine named after Vernadsky, the Library of Congress of the United States, and the British Library. He has authored over 100 scientific and scholarly works focusing on Ukrainian history, ethnology, law, and teaching methodologies.

Current Positions and Activities
Currently, he is the Head of the Department of Ukrainian History at Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk. He also leads the Center for European Studies at the university.
Memberships and Professional Development
He actively participates as a member of the Ukrainian Heraldic Society. In addition, he attended the School of Political Studies program on "Teaching 'Fundamentals of Democracy' in Higher Education Institutions" in February 2007.
Teaching Responsibilities
His teaching responsibilities encompass courses such as "Foundations of Law," "Theory of State and Law," and "Methodology of Legal Education" for bachelor's level students. For graduate students, he offers courses on "Legal Foundations of the Activities of Higher Educational Institutions," "History of the Ukrainian Statehood," and "Modern Europe: Political and Civilizational Processes."
