Early Life and Education
Andrei Dimentstein was born in Minsk, Belarus, into a military family. He lived in Germany and Georgia for extended periods of time.
From 1990 to 1991, he was a member of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Komsomol (Communist Youth League). He later pursued his higher education at the Belarusian State University's Faculty of History, graduating in 1996.
Academic Pursuits
Between 1997 and 1999, Dimentstein attended the Department of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin, Germany. From 2004 to 2006, he taught history at the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University.
Business and Publishing
Dimentstein worked in various business roles, including the Belarusian-German joint venture "Belpharm" and the Belarusian representative office of Pfizer.
In 2006, he established and became the general director of the publishing house "Nashe Slovo" in Moscow.
Author and Translator
As an author and translator, Dimentstein has written and translated over 17 books, including scholarly works and popular histories. He has collaborated with several publishers, including Interdigest, Sovremennaya Literatura, and AST.
Research and Publications
Dimentstein's research interests include German history, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Nazism, and pedagogy. He has published numerous articles and developed teaching methods for history education.
Personal Life
Andrei Dimentstein is married to Svetlana Batalina and currently resides in Moscow, Russia.
