Early Life and Career

Nikolai Petrovich Dolzhikov was born on January 10, 1932. He began his working life as an apprentice turner in 1948 at the L. M. Kaganovich Plant in Lublin.

Military Service and Aviation Training

In 1951, Dolzhikov graduated from the Third Moscow Aeroclub and was enlisted into the Soviet Army.

Career in the Coal Mining Industry

From 1955 to 1988, Dolzhikov worked at the Stalin Mine (later renamed the XXII Congress of the CPSU Mine) in the Kadievugol Trust. He held various positions, including tunnel miner, cutter operator, coal combine operator, miner, and reinforcement worker. In 1988-1989, he was a junior researcher at the Stakhanov Movement Museum.

Retirement and Return to Mining

Despite his retirement, Dolzhikov continued to work as an underground miner at the XXII Congress of the CPSU Mine from 1989 to 1993. He acquired additional skills as a machine operator for underground installations.

Political and Social Involvement

Dolzhikov was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and a delegate to the 25th Congress of the CPSU. He was also a recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Hero of Socialist Labor (1976), two Orders of Lenin, the Medal "Honored Miner of the USSR," the "For Services to Luhansk Region" insignia (in degrees II and III), and the full "Miner's Glory" badge.

Recognition and Legacy

Dolzhikov was designated an Honorary Citizen of the city of Stakhanov. In 2010, he was awarded the Order "For Merit" III degree by the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, for his contributions to the mining industry and in recognition of his long-standing service and professionalism.

Death

Nikolai Petrovich Dolzhikov passed away on January 2, 2012.
