Early Life and Military Service
Nikolai Logunov was born on May 31, 1925, in the village of Shoptovo, Tver Oblast. He enlisted in the Red Army in 1941 and fought throughout World War II until 1945. During his service, Logunov was decorated with three Orders of the Patriotic War, an Order of Glory, and numerous medals.
Legal Career
After the war, Logunov pursued legal studies at the Kazan Law Institute, graduating in 1951. He then served as a member of the Kaliningrad Regional Court (1951-1957). From 1957 to 1962, he worked in the Prosecutor's Office of the RSFSR.
In 1962, Logunov joined the Ministry of Water Management as Head of the Legal Department. He later held the position of Deputy Head of the Legal Department with Arbitration at the USSR Ministry of Fisheries (1966-1970). In 1970, he became Deputy Chief State Arbitrator of Moscow.
Arbiter and Judge
From 1992 onwards, Logunov served as First Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Arbitration Court. During his tenure, he was awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation and the Order of Merit (1966). In 1993, he was awarded the Highest Qualification Class for Judges by presidential decree.
Academic and Honors
Logunov also taught at the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute from 1970 to 1980. He published several textbooks on "Fundamentals of Economic Law" that illuminated regulations and practices in capital construction. In 1988, he was elected a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences for his contributions to the development of Moscow and the surrounding region.
As a respected professional, Logunov has participated in international conferences and workshops in Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Spain, and other countries.
Personal Life and Interests
Logunov is married to Margarita Alexandrovna Logunova and has a son, Roman, born in 1970. He enjoys reading and international tourism in his spare time. Logunov currently resides and works in Moscow.
