Early Life and Musical BeginningsNils Grevillius, a renowned Swedish conductor, embarked on his musical journey at a tender age. By the age of nine, he had already made his debut as a violinist. After graduating from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, he joined the Stockholm Concert Society Orchestra.
Career as Concertmaster and Conductor
In 1911, Grevillius was appointed concertmaster of the Royal Court Orchestra, later known as the Stockholm Opera Orchestra. He remained in this role until 1914, after which he returned to the Stockholm Concert Society Orchestra as second conductor, serving in that capacity until 1920.
Collaboration with the Swedish Ballet
In 1922, Grevillius worked with the Swedish Ballet during their Parisian tour. His collaboration with the company showcased his versatility and flair for conducting.
Musical Director of the Stockholm Opera
