Nina Kiri: A Serbian-Canadian Actress on the Rise

Nina Kiri is a Canadian actress of Serbian descent, known for her portrayal of Alma, the handmaid, in the first four seasons of the television series "The Handmaid's Tale" (2017-2021) and a number of horror films.

Early Life and Career

Kiri was born in Belgrade, the former Yugoslavia, in 1992. Her family moved to Vancouver, where she began performing in high school theater and later transitioned to professional stage acting in 2007. Kiri is fluent in French and Serbo-Croatian.

Her first on-screen role was a brief appearance in the 2011 Disney Channel television film "Lemonade Mouth." In 2016, Kiri starred in the short film "Cleo" by fellow Serbian-Canadian filmmaker Sanja Zivkovic.

Horror Film Roles

Kiri has taken on leading roles in three horror films: "Let Her Out" (2016), "The Haunting of Kirby Road" (2016), and "Heretics" (2017). Her performance in "Heretics" earned her the award for Best Actress at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival.
