Biography of Oksana Lesnaya
Oksana Lesnaya is a Belarusian theater and film actress who has had a successful career in both mediums. Born and raised in Minsk, Oksana's parents had no connection to the arts. Her mother worked as a radio installer at a local factory, while her father taught at a construction institute. However, Oksana grew up sensitive, emotional, and empathetic, qualities that led her to consider a career in acting.
After completing school, Oksana passed exams to enter the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute. She studied under the guidance of Zinaida Brovarskaya, a renowned actress and People's Artist of Belarus, until 1986. Oksana recalls that their course had many talented students, but in the end, only she and actress Svetlana Naumenko remained in the theater field. After graduating, Oksana joined the Minsk Youth Theater, where she served for five years before moving to the National Academic Russian Drama Theater named after Maxim Gorky. She continues to perform at this prestigious theater and is highly regarded as a leading stage actress.
Filmography
Oksana Lesnaya made her film debut in 1992 in the biographical drama "Cross on Earth and Moon in the Sky." She then appeared in another Belarusian film, "Epilogue," before taking a seven-year hiatus from her film career. In the 21st century, she returned to the screen in various projects, including the medical sitcom "Emergency Aid," several seasons of the detective series "Kamenskaya," the crime action film "Law," the sports drama "Team," and the war film "In June 41." Oksana gradually gained recognition as the most sought-after Belarusian actress in Russian cinema. Additionally, she appeared in several Belarusian series such as the romantic drama "Rhymes with Love," the adventure detective "Three Thalers," the children's war film "Homeland or Death," and the love drama "Seduction." Notably, Oksana does not have a specific role type, as she effortlessly portrays characters ranging from a peasant brigade leader in the melodrama "Boomerang" to an assassin in the detective film "Operation: Supermarket," and a strict head of a children's distribution agency in the war drama "Zhilin's Outpost," as well as a kind-hearted teacher in the children's comedy "Striped Happiness." She received positive reviews for her performance in the family drama "Provincial Girl," where she acted alongside young actress Antonina Komissarova. In 2016, Oksana's latest work, the social melodrama "Difficult Happiness," aired on television, in which she played the role of Anna Sergeyevna, a caregiver at an orphanage.
Personal Life
Oksana Lesnaya married her first husband, actor Sergey Lesnoy, at a relatively young age. Although the marriage was short-lived, Oksana decided to keep his last name, which eventually became her professional name. Her second husband, Vitaly, is also an actor who works in both theater and audiobook narration. They have a son together, who showed an interest in acting during his childhood. He even participated in the filming of a movie, where he flew a kite at the age of seven. However, as a teenager, he shifted his focus to the exact sciences and graduated from a radio engineering college. He currently works as a programmer.
Outside of her acting career, Oksana Lesnaya has a passion for psychology, fashion history, and traditional costumes. She is also a spiritual person and believes that true happiness comes from finding inner harmony.
