Early Life and Education
Borys Hutsulyak was born into a family of Ukrainian intellectuals. His father was a renowned chemist, and his grandfather was a Western Ukrainian writer and pedagogue. Growing up in Ivano-Frankivsk, Borys attended school and later graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in 1993. He then pursued postgraduate studies in Philosophy at the same university, completing his dissertation on neo-paganism in 2003.
Literary and Academic Career
Borys Hutsulyak is a prominent figure in Ukrainian literature and philosophy. He is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers and has been published in numerous journals and anthologies. As an academic, he earned his Candidate of Philosophical Sciences degree in 2006 and currently holds a position as associate professor at the Precarpathian National University.
Geopolitical Thought and Organizations
Hutsulyak is known for his geo-cultural concept of "Mesogeia (Mesoeurasia)," which explores the shared cultural and historical traits of Slavic and non-Slavic peoples in Eastern Europe. He is also involved in several organizations, including the Ukrainian Intellectual Club "Golden Gryphon" and the Ukrainian Phalanx, a nationalist movement.
International Recognition and Honors
Hutsulyak has garnered international recognition for his scholarship and activism. He is a member of the International of New Rightists and the Thule-Sarmatia Metapolitical Association. In 2008, he was awarded the honorary title of "Best Scientific Worker of the Year" by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration.
