Biography of Olga Tarasevich

Olga Tarasevich is a contemporary Belarusian writer and author of popular thriller detective novels. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the Belarusian State University (1994-1999). While working as a journalist, she wrote numerous articles about crime and simultaneously researched the nuances necessary for her books. She had to visit prosecutor's offices in Russia and Belarus, prisons, morgues, and police departments. She always loved reading detective novels. She wrote her first novel at the age of twenty, but it was not published. There was another unsuccessful attempt. The third book she wrote was published with a print run of 4,000 copies. Her first book, "Without Tea Ceremonies," was released in 2006. She began writing this book while at home on sick leave and completed it in two weeks. Olga Tarasevich's novels are published by "Eksmo" publishing house, in the "Artifact-Detective" series. The basis of the plot of the "Artifact-Detective" series is an intricate intrigue, delightful historical scenery, and exclusive plots. The main subject always becomes an artifact - an art object, predominantly created in past centuries, which first creates excitement and then leads to a crime. In her works, Olga herself invents fictional criminals and victims. In real life, only investigators, police officers, and forensic experts, whose work she admires, appear in her novels. Before writing, Olga Tarasevich usually creates a plan for the novel, invents characters, and describes all the scenes (although not everything always goes according to plan).
