Oliver Dulic: A Biographical Sketch

Early Life and Education

Oliver Dulic was born on January 21, 1975, in Belgrade, Serbia, to a family of professors. He pursued his education at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine, graduating with a degree in medicine. Currently, he is specializing in orthopedics at the same institution.

Political Career

Elected Speaker of Serbia's Parliament

In 2007, at the age of 32, Oliver Dulic was elected as the Speaker of the Parliament of Serbia. His appointment received support from the Democratic Party, Democratic Party of Serbia, New Serbia Party, and Group 17 Plus. Deputies representing national minorities also backed his bid. However, opposition parties such as the Serbian Radical Party, Socialist Party of Serbia, and Liberal Democratic Party declined to endorse him.

Student Activism and Party Involvement

Dulic's political activism began in the late 1990s as one of the leaders of student protests against the regime of Slobodan Milosevic. Following the fall of the regime, he held various leadership positions within the Democratic Party. He also served as a member of the Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro.

Personal Life

Oliver Dulic is married. He is fluent in English, German, and Hungarian.
