Early Career and Club Success

Omar Govea, a skilled midfielder, began his footballing journey at Mexican clubs San Luis and América. Despite his talent, fierce competition prevented him from making his professional debut for América. In 2014, he joined Mineros de Zacatecas on loan, where he made his debut in the Copa MX.

Breaking into Europe

In 2015, Govea ventured to Europe, joining the reserve team of Portuguese giants FC Porto. He impressed in the Segunda Liga, helping the team win the championship, which earned him a permanent transfer. In 2017, he moved on loan to Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron-Péruwelz, making his debut in the Belgian First Division B.

National Team Debut

International recognition came in 2013 when Govea contributed to Mexico's U-17 team winning silver at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
