Early Career and DebutOskar Hiljemark, a Swedish footballer, was born on June 28, 1991. He rose through the ranks of Elfsborg's academy before making his Allsvenskan debut in September 2010. A year later, he netted his first goal for the club. Hiljemark's impressive performances played a crucial role in Elfsborg winning the 2012 Swedish championship.
Move to PSV Eindhoven and Domestic Success
In early 2013, Hiljemark transferred to PSV Eindhoven for 2.2 million euros. He debuted in the Eredivisie as a substitute in January and quickly established himself as a key player. The following season, he helped PSV win the Dutch Cup and reach the league final, earning a runner-up medal. In August 2013, Hiljemark scored his first goal for PSV.
Italian Adventure at Palermo and Genoa
In July 2015, Hiljemark joined Italian side Palermo. He debuted that August, making his Serie A mark with a goal in September. After a strong start, Hiljemark moved to Genoa during the 2017 January transfer window.
Loan to Panathinaikos and International Career
In search of more playing time, Hiljemark was loaned to Panathinaikos in summer 2017. He made his Greek Super League debut in September and scored his first goal for the club the following month.
Hiljemark's international career began in 2011 with the Swedish U21 team. He earned his senior debut in 2014 and scored his first goal for the national team in the same match against Bahrain. Hiljemark played a significant role in Sweden's victory at the 2015 European Under-21 Championship. Despite being named to the squad for the 2016 European Championship, he did not make an appearance.
