Roy Krishna: Fijian Striker with International Renown

Roy Krishna is a prominent Fijian footballer who plays as a striker for the Fiji national team and Laukota FC. His professional career commenced in 2004 with Suva-based Laukota FC.

Early Career and National Recognition

Just one year into his Laukota career, Krishna received a call-up to the Fiji national team in 2005. In 2006, he moved to Ba FC and enjoyed a loan stint with New Zealand's Youngheart Manawatu. Krishna is renowned for his exceptional footwork and aerial prowess.

International Success

Krishna's consistently impressive performances earned him a spot on the Fiji national team, where he has been a regular since 2005. His nickname, "Ozzie," stems from his record-breaking 10 goals as the top scorer of the 2007 Pacific Games.

World Cup Qualifiers and Records

During the 2010 FIFA World Cup Oceania qualification, Krishna became the leading scorer with 12 goals, making him one of the top two scorers in the entire qualifying tournament alongside Moumouni Dagano from Burkina Faso. Notably, six of these goals came in a single match on August 25, 2007, when Fiji annihilated Tuvalu 16-0.

Club Championships and Records

In 2010, Krishna joined Hekari United in Papua New Guinea. In December 2010, he played his only match in the FIFA Club World Cup, representing Hekari United in a 3-0 loss to Al-Wahda of the United Arab Emirates.

Return to Fiji and Continued Glory

Since 2011, Krishna has returned to Ba FC. He led the club to victory in the 2005 Inter-District Championship, the 2006 Fiji National Football League, and the 2007 Inter-District Championship. Ba FC also lifted the 2007 Fiji Cup with Krishna in their ranks.
