Biography of Otar Koberidze

Otar Koberidze was a Georgian actor and director, born on February 25, 1924, in Tbilisi, Georgia. He was honored with the title of People's Artist of the Georgian SSR in 1967. Koberidze also served as a participant in the Great Patriotic War.

Early Life and Education

Koberidze initially pursued a legal education and attended the Faculty of Law at Tbilisi Legal Institute from 1947 to 1949 through correspondence courses. However, his passion for acting led him to join the School of Film Actors at the Tbilisi Film Studio in 1948.

Acting Career

After completing his studies at the Film Actors School, Koberidze became an actor at the Sukhumi Drama Theater in 1948. In 1956, he joined the Georgia-Film Studio as an actor and later became a director in 1963. Throughout his career, he appeared in a variety of genres, including comedy, drama, and adventure films.
