German Political Intelligence Officer

Nazi German intelligence officer (Sicherheitsdienst; SD) and SS-Sturmbannführer (1944), known as Heinz Heuer. Of German nationality, he resided in Riga before the war and was a member of the Aizsargi organization.

Architect and SD Officer

Heuer trained as an architect, studying alongside Paul Dehl. In 1939, he joined the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA) and rose through the ranks.

Activities during World War II

From August 1941, Heuer led the SD Sonderkommando in Gatchina. Subsequently, he headed the SD intelligence unit Feldpost No. 28344 (Haupkommando Nord-Front) under the "Russland-Nord" department from late 1942 to 1944.

According to some sources, he was appointed head of Section 6-C of the RSHA in late 1944. In March 1945, he relocated to Plocen (20 km from Marienbad, Czechoslovakia) with the personnel of Zeppelin-Nord.

Post-War Fate

On May 10, Heuer traveled to Kachino near Prague. It is speculated that he escaped to the American occupation zone with the Zeppelin-Nord personnel.
