Owen Cheshire, a British graduate and member of Mensa, is a living example that it's not only foolish and shallow people who care about their appearance. After undergoing a cosmetic surgery, Cheshire managed to significantly boost his self-esteem and make his life and job search, worthy of his intellect, much easier. The stereotype of highly intelligent people being unattractive is not always true.

Twenty-one-year-old Owen Cheshire, born in Southampton, didn't settle for the appearance that nature had given him. Instead, he decided to modify his own look according to his own desires. While we can say that appearance is not the most important thing in a person and that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, unfortunately, in practice, these words often don't align with reality. Owen Cheshire, with an overly large nose, knew this all too well. Laughter, even if subdued, at his expense was a familiar occurrence. Over time, Cheshire's self-esteem suffered, leading him to avoid meeting new people and despise being photographed. He always understood that achieving success in life with such insecurities would be extremely difficult, if not impossible. Cheshire had two options - either learn to accept himself as he was and come to terms with others' reactions or change his appearance through surgery. Cheshire began dreaming of cosmetic surgery as a teenager. His large nose was inherited, as several of his relatives had equally impressive features. For a while, Cheshire tried to ignore this aspect of his appearance and focus on more important matters, but unfortunately, it was not successful. The taunting of school bullies did not prevent Cheshire from excelling in school and obtaining a place in college, which was a great achievement in itself. However, it didn't do much for his self-esteem. He still didn't feel attractive enough and was not particularly sociable. Focused on his studies, Cheshire made a breakthrough in his life – he managed to gain admission to the prestigious "Mensa" society. Owen secured his place among the world's smartest individuals in 2012, when he showcased the necessary IQ of 132 during the tests. Meanwhile, Cheshire was getting closer to obtaining his degree in marketing and media industry. Unfortunately, in this field, appearance and self-belief played a significant role. In the end, Owen decided to undergo the surgery. After carefully examining all available options, Cheshire chose the 'Transform' clinic in London, as it offered the best post-operative care and support. The surgeon agreed to remove the bump on Cheshire's nose and refine its tip for a substantial sum of £4000. Owen was prepared to spend the money, considering it an investment in his future. According to Cheshire, the results were worth every penny. Finally, Owen can confidently pose for photographers and enjoy looking in the mirror.
