Pablo Granoche: A Journeyman Striker

Pablo Granoche, a Uruguayan striker, began his professional career with Tacuarembó. After a brief stint with River Plate de Montevideo, he made a breakthrough with Miramar Misiones, scoring 38 goals in 56 appearances.

Mexican Adventure

His performances caught the attention of Mexican club Toluca, who signed him in 2005. However, Granoche struggled to make an impact, scoring only two goals in 13 games. He was subsequently loaned out to Veracruz, where he scored just once.

Resurgence in Italy

Granoche's fortunes changed in 2007 when he was transferred to Italian Serie B club Triestina for €1 million. He made an immediate impact, scoring 24 goals in his first season, including the club's 1000th goal in Serie B.

Split Ownership

In 2008, C.F. Chievo acquired half of Granoche's rights, but he remained on loan at Triestina for another year. During this time, he scored five goals in 20 appearances.

Serie A Debut and Injury Controversy

Granoche made his Serie A debut with Chievo in 2009. He scored his first goal for the club in the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina. In a bizarre incident, he fractured the noses of Fabio Cannavaro and Zdenek Grygera in a collision.

Redemption

Despite the injury controversy, Chievo purchased Granoche's remaining rights at the end of the season. He went on to score three goals in 33 league appearances. Despite interest from Napoli and Grosseto, Granoche remained with Chievo.

Cup Heroes

Granoche continued to be a reliable goal scorer in the Coppa Italia, scoring two goals against Novara in 2010. His performances helped Chievo reach the semi-finals of the competition.
