Early Life and Career

Pal Dárdai was born in Pécs, Hungary, and began his professional football career with hometown club Pécsi MFC. In January 1996, he moved to Vác FC and, a year later, to Hertha BSC in Germany.

Bundesliga Success

Dárdai quickly established himself as a key member of Hertha's squad, making 10 appearances in his first season. He remained a regular starter for many years, helping the club reach the UEFA Cup.

From 2009 onwards, Dárdai's playing time gradually diminished. He spent the first half of the 2010/11 season playing for Hertha's reserve team. However, he ended his 14-year stint with the club as its record appearance holder, having made 297 appearances.
