Early Life and Education
Park Sung-hoon was born on January 9, 1973, in Chungju, South Korea, a region renowned for apple cultivation and martial arts. At an early age, he pursued athletic endeavors, later enrolling at Konkuk University to study molecular biology. However, he dropped out and served mandatory military service. Encouraged by his father, Park ultimately obtained his law degree from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Career Beginnings
Influenced by his elder brother, Park began pursuing acting in 1997. After attending acting classes and martial arts training, he made his film debut in "No. 3." Initially cast in minor roles, he gained recognition as a gangster in "Mr. Socrates."
Breakthrough and Versatility
Park's breakthrough came with the historical drama "The Legend," where he showcased his horsemanship skills as a mercenary leader wielding an axe. He continued to star in action films, experimenting with comedy as well. Notably, he appeared in "Method" alongside Oh Seung-hoon, "38 Task Force," and "Life on Mars."
Hiatus and Return
After a pandemic-induced hiatus, Park resumed his acting career with roles in "Taxi Deluxe," "Love All Play," "The Hunting Dogs," and the feature film "Beast." He also starred in the Amazon Prime Video thriller "The Death Vote."
Personal Life
Park met and fell in love with actress Shin Eun-jung on the set of "The Legend." They married on October 18, 2008, and became parents to a son named Sung in 2010. Park enjoys spending time with his family, especially attending baseball games. He is also passionate about philanthropy, supporting organizations that aid South Korean children.
Recent Endeavors
