Biography of Patrick Porter

Patrick Porter is an American singer, songwriter, prose writer, poet, and artist. Born on November 18, 1977, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he grew up in the isolated mountain town of Bailey, Colorado.
Early Life and Musical Journey

From a young age, Porter immersed himself in the world of music. He often sat behind the drums in his father's band, which played in biker bars. During his teenage years, Patrick began composing his own songs. He recorded hundreds of homemade cassette tapes, experimenting with sound as much as the conditions allowed. He was also a member of the hardcore art-punk band 'Neglected Lawn.'
Rise to International Fame

Porter gained international recognition after signing a contract with the Australian indie label 'Camera Obscura.' In 2002, they released his first full-length CD titled 'Reverb Saved My Life.' Prior to that, the alternative group 'Phineas Gage,' in which Porter played for a while, presented their album 'Reconsidered.'
New York Years and Recordings

Following his move to New York in 2003, Porter recorded several albums, including 'Lisha Kill' (Camera Obscura, 2005), 'Maybe Waltz' (Evelyn Records, 2004), and 'Skylan Mo' (Asaurus Records, 2004). In 2006, Patrick signed with the independent label 'Greyday Records' based in Portland, Oregon. In September 2006, the company released Porter's LP 'Die Wandaland.' The label also put out a double CD featuring most of Porter's works from 2008 onwards.
Accomplishments as a Poet and Writer

In addition to his musical achievements, Patrick Porter has gained recognition as a poet and writer. His first poetry collection, 'The Intrusive Ache of Morning,' was published by Chicago's Press of the Third Mind in 2001. The following year, his second book, 'Nervous Halo,' was released. Porter has also written two novels, 'Kristallnacht' in 2001 and 'Apocalypse Later' in 2006, as well as a collection of short stories titled 'Hemm Haww' in 2009.
Artistic Pursuits

As an artist, Porter began to express himself in 2006 while living in New York. He sold his watercolor/pastel paintings in Union Square Park to improve his financial situation.
