Biography of Paul Caddick
Rugby Career and Injury
Paul Caddick, an entrepreneur, multimillionaire, and former rugby player, did not lose his zest for life after being unable to play rugby due to a serious injury. Remembering his background in civil engineering, he managed to establish a successful construction company and acquire his own rugby club, albeit indirectly, thus maintaining his connection to the sport he loved. Caddick's sporting career was prematurely ended in 1980 when he suffered a serious neck injury. However, he was determined not to completely part ways with his beloved sport. In the 1960s, he worked as a site manager and held a diploma in civil construction as well as qualifications in civil and municipal engineering.

Establishment of Caddick Group
In 1979, Caddick founded the company 'Caddick Group,' a construction enterprise operating in Yorkshire. What was initially a relatively small company grew into something highly impressive. By August 2011, Caddick could proudly report losses of £2.7 million, sales of £62.3 million, and net assets of £38 million.

Ownership of Leeds CF&A and Headingley Stadium
Sixteen years ago, Caddick became the owner of 'Leeds CF&A' and the proprietor of 'Headingley' stadium. In 1998, Paul played a pivotal role in the establishment of the world's first dual partnership when the 'Leeds' rugby club joined forces with the 'Leeds Rhinos,' creating the joint project 'Leeds Rugby.' For Caddick himself, this acquisition primarily provided a new opportunity to maintain his connection with his favorite sport. He regularly attends 'Rhinos' games, often accompanied by his children and grandchildren.
Involvement in Cricket and Retirement Villages
In 2005, Caddick agreed to sell a neighboring stadium to a local cricket club, giving the Yorkshire cricketers their own sports arena for the first time in their long history. While Caddick continues to lead 'Leeds Rugby,' his 'Caddick Group' holds a 76% stake in the company. The parent company collaborates closely with several high-ranking clients. Additionally, Caddick has been actively involved in developing retirement villages as part of the 'Retirement Villages' project.
Personal Life and Charitable Work
Over 90% of the shares of 'Caddick Group' belong to Caddick's family and trust funds. With personal capital and income from sales totaling £150 million, Caddick and his family have achieved significant wealth. In addition to his business pursuits, Caddick has worked for the engineering department of the West Yorkshire County Council. However, after the collapse of his sporting aspirations, he decided not to return to working on other people's projects. Instead, he created his own company focusing on construction, design, development, and real estate. Notably, the company was responsible for establishing the first major business park in Yorkshire. Currently, Caddick holds the position of Chairman of 'Caddick Development Limited.'
In his free time, Caddick enjoys rugby, skiing, and shooting sports. He also has non-sporting interests, such as collecting classic cars and appreciating fine dining. Caddick is also involved in charitable endeavors, with the 'Leeds Rhinos' charitable foundation, known as the 'Leeds Rugby Foundation,' operating under his guidance. The foundation aims to make a positive and lasting impact on individuals' lives by harnessing the power of sport. To date, the foundation has demonstrated that skilled hands can indeed wield sport as a potent charitable tool.
