Biography of Zig Ziglar
Born on November 16, 1926, in Alabama, Zig Ziglar was a renowned writer, lecturer, and expert in network marketing. He was also the founder and chairman of the "Zig Ziglar" corporation. Growing up as the twelfth child in his family, Ziglar moved with his family to Yazoo City, Mississippi, at the age of five. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when Ziglar's father passed away from a stroke, leaving his mother to single-handedly support their large family.
During World War II, Ziglar served in the U.S. Navy, which allowed him to pursue a college education successfully. After getting married in 1946, Ziglar began working as a salesman and realized that he excelled in this field. Over the years, he developed his sales skills to such a high level that he started receiving invitations to train newcomers. He launched the sale of aluminum cookware for "Wearever" and gradually shifted his focus towards training.
In 1968, Ziglar became the vice president and director of personnel training for an automobile manufacturing company in Dallas, Texas. It was during this time that he dedicated more attention to sales training. By the early 1970s, Ziglar fully concentrated on his lecturing and training activities. He published his first book on sales, "See You at the Top," which quickly became a bestseller and gained widespread recognition in business circles. This book has been reprinted and expanded several times, maintaining its position as a bestseller for over 30 years.
As Ziglar's popularity grew, he acquired the nickname "Zig" in the business community, and today, few people know his real name, Hilary. Throughout his career, Ziglar authored more than 25 books on sales, success, leadership, personal growth, faith, Christianity, and more. Over 10 of these books became international bestsellers. He founded the "Zig Ziglar" corporation, which continues his legacy by assisting individuals and companies in unlocking and achieving their full potential.
Ziglar produced a vast amount of video and audio material on personnel training in companies, and his annual lectures on successful sales and staff development have reached over 300,000 listeners. His training materials have been translated into 40 languages, and major corporations worldwide are interested in working with "Zig Ziglar."
