Biography of Paul van Dyk

Paul van Dyk is a German musician and producer, and one of the world's leading trance DJs. His efforts have been focused on creating a career that has had some interesting consequences. The German number one, Paul van Dyk, did not achieve success easily, but he managed to become a legendary figure in the music scene, thanks to his relentless energy, hard work, and unique construction of electronic sound.

Early Life

Paul grew up in poverty during the communist dictatorship in East Germany. It was only at the age of 17 that he was able to move to the Western part of the country. As a child, he dreamed of living in the West, and the radio became his only connection to the outside world. His love for music led him to tune in to radio stations in West Berlin and record electronic music, as there were no other opportunities for him to hear something new. His mother sent requests for permission to leave the country for 10 years, but they were all unsuccessful. "Although leaving the country was considered illegal, we insisted so persistently that they simply threw us out, allowing us to take only one suitcase and our dog. I know it sounds too banal for the struggle we endured, but in the end, we became free! Nothing can be worse than living under oppressive dictatorship, this insignificant life, it has no taste."

Music Career

Since then, all of Paul's efforts have been directed towards creating a career that has had some interesting consequences. Numerous praises and reviews have been sparked not only by his great mixes but also by the music production process itself. Since the release of Visions Of Shiva's 'Perfect Day' in 1992, he has completed three more albums: RPM's 'Seven Ways' and last year's 'Out There And Back', and he is already working on the fourth.

At the same time, he is working on an interesting project for a film and has just finished a CD mix for 'Politics Of Dancing'. Despite the events of September 11 in New York, he says, "I refuse to cancel my tour in the States, which will undoubtedly be successful. America and especially New York were affected by what happened, but it's nice to see that the spirit of the people is returning, especially when it comes to clubs. There, you can witness wonderful performances and top-class DJs hang out. For example, I am a big fan of Edgar V from Miami." We hope that Paul van Dyk will continue to be loved by many, just like his soundtrack to The Big Apple.
