Pavel Fyodorovich Belikov was born on July 29, 1911, in Narva, Estonia, to an affluent family. He attended the 51st Soviet Unified Labor School in Leningrad and later graduated from the Higher Commercial Courses in Tallinn.

During his youth, Belikov developed a passion for literature, philosophy, and art. He participated in the Tallinn Russian Literary Circle, delivering lectures and publishing literary reviews. Notably, in 1937, he authored "Pushkin and Statehood."

Dedication to the Reerich Family

From the early 1930s, Belikov became captivated with the life and work of the Reerich family, renowned Russian artists and spiritualists. In 1936, he received a letter from Nicholas Roerich, establishing a correspondence that continued with Yuri and Svetoslav Roerich.

Archival and Research Contributions

Belikov began assembling an archive dedicated to Nicholas Roerich in the mid-1930s. From the mid-1950s until his death, he maintained extensive correspondence with Roerich museums and societies worldwide.

In 1968, he published an authoritative "Bibliography of the Works of N.K. Roerich" in the proceedings of the University of Tartu. His collection grew to include over 4,000 items, providing an invaluable resource for researchers.

Publications and Literary Achievements

Starting in 1967, Belikov published previously unknown materials from Roerich's literary legacy. In 1972, he retired and devoted himself solely to scholarly and literary pursuits.

In collaboration with art historian Vera Knyazeva, Belikov co-authored the biography "Nicholas Roerich" in the popular "Lives of Remarkable People" series (1972, 1973). He also played a key role in the publication of "N.K. Roerich: From His Literary Heritage" (1974), a collection of Roerich's writings drawn from his archive.

In his later years, Belikov authored "Roerich: An Experiment in Spiritual Biography" (1994) and "Svetoslav Roerich: Life and Works" (2004).

Cultural and Civic Impact

Belikov served as a consultant on several documentaries about the Reerichs. He also organized and participated in national academic conferences, delivered lectures, and actively engaged in cultural and spiritual matters.
