Early Life and EducationBorn on August 30, 1922, in Novoскелюватка, Ukraine, Pavel Prokopyevich Glazovy was the son of a farmer. He attended the Novomoskovsk Pedagogical School and then served in the army during World War II.
Career and Recognition
After the war, Glazovy studied at the Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical Institute, where he caught the attention of the renowned Ukrainian writer Ostap Vyshnya. Vyshnya became a mentor to the young Glazovy and assisted him in transferring to the Kiev Pedagogical Institute, where he graduated in 1950 with a degree in philology.
From 1950 to 1961, Glazovy served as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the satirical magazine "Perets" (Pepper), and later as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the magazine "Mystetstvo" (Art).
