Early Life and Education
Born in Leningrad on December 25, 1956, the entrepreneur and politician attended the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute (MATI) from 1972 to 1979, graduating with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
Academic Career
Upon graduation, he joined MATI's faculty in 1982 as a lecturer.Business Ventures
In 1994, he founded and became Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO Pokrovsky Rudnik. In 2001, he rose to Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Peter Hambro Mining Plc., holding a significant shareholding position.

In 2010, he became the CEO and co-owner of the Petropavlovsk company.Political Involvement
In 2011, he was elected as a representative of the Legislative Assembly of the Amur Oblast to the Federation Council of Russia.
