Perla Beltran is a Mexican model and beauty pageant contestant. She was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, and grew up in Guamúchil.

Early Dreams and Local Beauty Pageants

From a young age, Perla was drawn to the world of beauty pageants, but she didn't take her dreams seriously. However, her mother eventually convinced her to give it a try. Perla participated in a local beauty contest and won convincingly.

Miss Earth Mexico and Miss Air

In 2001, Perla competed in the Miss Earth Mexico pageant and secured the second place in the Miss Air category. However, it was in 2008 that she gained real recognition. She represented her home state of Sinaloa in the national beauty pageant "Nuestra Belleza México 2008" held in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Out of 33 models, Perla emerged as the winner.

Miss World 2009

Perla's victory in the national pageant not only brought her national fame but also the opportunity to represent Mexico in the 59th edition of the Miss World pageant held in Johannesburg, South Africa. She showcased herself remarkably well, automatically advancing to the semifinals. Perla also performed impressively in the swimsuit competition, ultimately securing the second position overall, being surpassed only by Kaiane Aldorino from Gibraltar. Along with the title of 1st runner-up Miss World, Perla was also crowned Miss World Americas.

Continued Success

Perla's journey in beauty pageants didn't end there. In 2010, she won the "Grand Slam" according to the Globalbeauties.com website. She also ranked in the top 10 in the "Face of the Year" competition and in the top 5 in the "Sexiest Women Alive" ranking. Missosology.com awarded Perla the title of "Queen of the World Cup," a distinction unrelated to the Miss World pageant or the International Football Federation. This title was contested among 32 participants representing countries whose national football teams competed for the championship in South Africa.
