Early Life and Family Background

Pete Davidson was born on November 16, 1993, in Staten Island, New York City, to Amy (née Waters) and Scott Matthew Davidson. His father was of Jewish descent, while his mother was of Irish heritage. Davidson was raised Catholic and has a younger sister, Casey.

His father was a New York City firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty during the 9/11 attacks in 2001. He was last seen running up the stairs of the World Trade Center's Marriott Hotel moments before its collapse. Davidson, who was seven years old at the time, was deeply affected by this loss. He has said that it was "overwhelming" and that, as a result of the trauma, he pulled out his own hair at one point, rendering him bald.
