Peter Docter: The Oscar-Winning Animator
Peter Docter is an American director, producer, screenwriter, animator, and voice actor from Bloomington, Minnesota. Most notably, he has directed the Pixar films "Monsters, Inc.", "Up", and "Inside Out".

Docter is a key figure and creative force behind Pixar Animation Studios. He has been nominated for an Academy Award six times, winning three, and has received numerous other accolades, including two Annie Awards, a BAFTA Children's Film Award, and a Hochi Film Award.
Passion for Anime
Docter is an avid fan of Japanese anime and has collaborated with renowned animator Hayao Miyazaki. He describes himself as "a kid from Minnesota who just loves to draw pictures and make them move."
Early Life and Career
Docter began his career at Pixar at the young age of 21. As a child, he was an introvert who preferred spending time alone. Both of his parents were educators: his mother, Rita Margaret (Kane), was a music teacher, and his father directed a choir.
Personal Life
Docter is married to Amanda Docter and has two children, Nick and Elie, ages 12 and 10, respectively. His daughter voiced Young Ellie in the film "Up."
Future Projects
In an interview discussing "Inside Out," Docter was asked about the possibility of a sequel. He responded, "I don't have any ideas right now to make a great movie, but I would love to see these characters again."
