Early Life and CareerPeter DeLuise is the eldest son of legendary actor Dom DeLuise and actress Carol Arthur. Born into a family with a strong entertainment pedigree, Peter began his acting journey in the 1979 film "Hot Stuff."
Breakthrough Role in "21 Jump Street"
DeLuise's career reached new heights with his role as Officer Doug Penhall in the hit Fox series "21 Jump Street." The show, which featured a young Johnny Depp, launched DeLuise's career and cemented his status as a promising actor. His brother, Michael, later joined the cast in Season 5 as Officer Joe Penhall, Doug's younger brother.
Sci-Fi Credentials and Television Guest Appearances
DeLuise's versatility extended to the science fiction genre, where he portrayed the character of Dagwood in the NBC series "seaQuest DSV" from 1994 to 1996. In 1997, DeLuise's involvement in the "Stargate" franchise began as a producer, writer, director, and creative consultant on "Stargate SG-1." He continued to play a significant role as an executive producer, director, and writer for the spin-off "Stargate Atlantis" and was scheduled to direct episodes of the spin-off "Stargate Universe." Notably, his father, Dom DeLuise, appeared in the "Stargate SG-1" episode "Urgo," which Peter directed.
Recent Projects and Personal Life
DeLuise directed the television series "jPod," based on Douglas Coupland's novel of the same name, which premiered in January 2008. From 1988 to 1992, DeLuise was married to actress Gina Nemo, who played Doug Penhall's girlfriend on "21 Jump Street." He is now married to Canadian actress Anne Marie Loder and currently resides in West Vancouver, British Columbia. The couple welcomed their son, Jake Dominic, in 2004.
