Early Life and Education
Born on June 1, 1976, in Khabarovsk, Russia, Pyotr Buslov spent his early years in Vladivostok. His childhood dream was to become a seafarer, but fate had other plans. At 17, he moved to Moscow, where he drifted for two years before deciding to pursue acting.
Encouraged by a director he knew, Buslov enrolled in the directing faculty of VGIK (Russian State Institute of Cinematography) under Karen Shakhnazarov and later Vadim Abdrashitov.
Debut as an Actor and Director
In 2003, Buslov made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed crime film "Boomer." The film, starring Vladimir Vdovitchenkov, Andrei Merzlikin, and Maxim Konovalov, showcased Buslov's raw talent and earned him high praise at the "Kinotavr" film festival.
Cinematic Success
After the success of "Boomer," Buslov was offered several projects, including the thriller "Antiterror" and the adventure comedy "Call Me a Genie!" (starring as the Genie alongside Ilya Khotinenko).
In 2005, Buslov released the sequel to "Boomer," which featured the return of Merzlikin's character and the unexpected resurrection of Vdovitchenkov's. The film was another commercial success, solidifying Buslov's status as a rising star.
Award-Winning Director
In the years that followed, Buslov directed several notable films, including the 2009 black comedy "Urgent Repair" and the 2011 biopic "Vysotsky: Thank God I'm Alive," which earned him the "Golden Eagle Award" for Best Director.
Personal Life
Buslov has always been a private person, shunning media attention outside of his professional life. He is married to costume designer Evgenia Evgienko.
