Pavel Lukyanovich Godlevsky
Early Life and EducationPavel Lukyanovich Godlevsky was born on May 15, 1928, in a family of Polish descent. His father, Lukyan Dmitrievich Godlevsky, was from the ancient noble family of the Godlevskis. Godlevsky graduated from the Stalingrad State Pedagogical Institute in 1951.
Journalistic Career
Godlevsky embarked on his journalistic journey in 1951 as a special correspondent for the youth newspaper "Molodoy Leninets" in Stalingrad. He progressed through various roles, including literary employee and deputy editor at "Stroyka Kommunizma," and own correspondent for "Komsomolskaya Pravda" in the Irkutsk region.
From 1961 to 1976, Godlevsky served as an own correspondent for the news agency "Agency Press Novosti" in Volgograd, Saratov, Astrakhan, and the Republic of Kalmykia. Subsequently, he became the editor-in-chief of the Kuibyshev Film Chronicle Studio.
Continuing his journalistic pursuits, Godlevsky worked as an own correspondent for "Sovetskaya Torgovlya" and, from 1990, "Torgovaya Gazeta" in the Volga region.
Literary Contributions
In addition to his journalistic work, Godlevsky was also an accomplished literary figure. He wrote a collection of short stories, a novella, a novel, and a play. His screenplay for the film "Unconquered Stalingrad" was shown in over 80 countries, while his other film, "Children of Stalingrad," received the highest literary award in the German Democratic Republic, the "Silver Arrow."
