Early Life and Education

Petr Zlochevsky was born on May 25, 1907 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He spent his childhood in Zvenigorodka before receiving his initial art education at the K.M. and S.M. Tereshchenko Art School. In 1927, he enrolled in the Kyiv Art Institute's theater department, graduating in 1931. His instructors included Fotii Krasnitsky, Vladimir Tatlin, and Vladimir Elevi.

Theatrical Career

Zlochevsky worked as a stage designer at the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater from 1936 until his passing. He also created sets for productions at the Kyiv and Voroshilovgrad theaters. His notable works include "The Barber of Seville," "Esmeralda," "Don Quixote," "Prince Igor," "Ivan Susanin," "Swan Lake," and "The Nutcracker."

Pedagogy

Zlochevsky dedicated 22 years to teaching. He served as an associate professor and later professor at the Ushinsky Odessa Pedagogical Institute's art and graphic arts department.
