Sir Philip Green is a well-known British businessman with a multi-billion pound fortune. He was born on March 15, 1952, in South London, into a Jewish family. Green attended the closed Jewish school, Carmel College, during his childhood. At the age of 12, he lost his father to a heart attack.

After finishing school, Green gained experience in retail by working for a shoe importer. To establish connections with foreign suppliers, he embarked on a trip to America, Europe, and the Far East, where he met denim designers and manufacturers. This led him to decide to import denim clothing for retail sale in the UK.

Upon returning to London, Green took a £20,000 loan from a bank and organized the supply of denim clothing from the Far East to the UK. He purchased a retail space and opened his first store. Additionally, he sold clothing obtained from dry cleaners, packaged them in polythene, and sold them as new. Green earned his first million by purchasing products from Jean Jeannie, a retail seller who was liquidating his stock due to a crisis.

In 1988, Green became the director of Amber Day, a company specializing in discounted goods, and held this position until 1992. In the early 1990s, he acquired the Owen & Owen retail chain, consisting of 12 stores. Starting from 1999, he sold the stores of this chain, with the last one being sold in 2004.

Since 1999, Green has been involved in the gradual acquisition of the Arcadia and BHS retail chains, which have stores throughout London and are of great interest in the clothing and footwear retail sector. In October 2005, he and his wife became the majority shareholders of these retail chains, holding 92% of the shares.

Sir Philip Green has achieved great success in his life through his own ingenuity and business acumen.
