Early Career

Philip Tomasino is a Canadian ice hockey player who plays as a center for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He previously played for the Mississauga Rebels in his youth hockey days. He was selected fifth overall by the Niagara IceDogs in the OHL Draft. Tomasino made his OHL debut on September 23, 2017, against the Hamilton Bulldogs, recording an assist. He scored his first OHL goal on October 19, 2017, against Jacob Ingham of the Mississauga Steelheads in a 6-3 victory for Niagara. Tomasino finished the 2017-18 season with five goals and 24 points in 61 games. He was named the Central Division Player of the Month for February on March 2, 2018.

Breakout Season

In his second season with the IceDogs, Tomasino increased his point production to 72. He recorded four assists in a 6-1 victory over North Bay on September 29, 2018. Tomasino scored his first multi-goal game of his OHL career on November 17, 2018, scoring twice in a 6-3 victory over the Erie Otters. He set a new career high in points in a game on December 15, 2018, with two goals and three assists in a 6-2 win against the Oshawa Generals. Tomasino scored his first career OHL playoff goal on March 26, 2019, scoring twice and adding an assist in a 6-0 victory over North Bay. He finished with four goals and seven points in 11 postseason games.

Oshawa Generals

In the following season, he was named an assistant captain. Tomasino recorded his first OHL hat-trick on October 4, 2019, and had a six-point game in an 8-4 victory over Kingston. He again had a six-point game (2+4) on January 2, 2020, in a 9-8 victory over North Bay. On January 9, 2020, the Niagara IceDogs traded Tomasino to the Oshawa Generals for the rights to defenseman David Gucciardi and nine draft picks. He had a successful debut with the Generals, recording five points in a 6-3 victory over Windsor. Tomasino again recorded five points on January 25, 2020, this time in a 7-4 victory over Kingston. In 26 games with Oshawa, Tomasino recorded 43 points, including 18 goals. He finished the 2019-20 season with 100 points in 58 games, finishing fourth in OHL regular-season scoring.

NHL Draft

Tomasino was selected 24th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver.
