Biography of Philippe Jaroussky
French singer and countertenor, Philippe Jaroussky, was born in 1978 in Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines department, France. He initially started his musical journey as a violinist but unexpectedly found his passion for singing. Jaroussky possesses a beautiful voice and a devilish charm, which adds to his musical talent. He began his musical education at a young age and excelled as a musician, receiving awards from the Versailles Conservatory. After mastering the piano, he decided to pursue a career in singing. Inspired by countertenor Fabrice di Falco, Jaroussky earned a diploma from the Paris Conservatory, specializing in early music.

Jaroussky quickly gained recognition for his Baroque repertoire and became highly regarded among lovers of ancient music. Despite his deep fascination with early music, Jaroussky does not limit himself to this genre. Recently, he recorded a piece composed specifically for him by French composer Marc-André Dalbavie. This work, performed with a large orchestra, proved to be incredibly interesting and beneficial for the young singer.

In 2004, Jaroussky received the prestigious French music award "Victoires de la musique," which he repeated in 2007. In 2008, he was named "Best Singer of the Year" at the Echo Classic Awards. Jaroussky humbly views his success as luck and feels grateful for the opportunities that come his way. He carefully selects repertoire that complements his voice and is dedicated to reviving Baroque music.

Jaroussky has performed in numerous concerts worldwide, including several appearances in Russia, specifically in Moscow's Great Hall and Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Despite his magnificent voice, he strives to connect with people on a personal level, valuing friendships based on genuine appreciation for his character rather than just his vocal talent.
Philippe Jaroussky's incredible, pure, and enchanting voice makes it nearly impossible to separate the musician from his exceptional countertenor persona. He prefers to engage with individuals who knew him before his singing career, as they see him as more than just a performer.
