Early Life and Family

Phillip Dunn, an American track and field athlete, was born on June 12, 1971, in Eugene, Oregon. Hailing from a family of athletes, he found inspiration and support from his parents, both former marathoners and sailors. His brother, Malcolm, a former competitive runner, now serves as a renowned running coach.

Education and Athletics

Dunn graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon in 1989. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in English with honors from Carleton College in 1993. During and after his studies, Dunn actively participated in track and field competitions at both national and international levels.

Coaching and Club Affiliation

Phillip Dunn is coached by the esteemed Enrique Pena and is currently a member of the New Balance track and field club. Additionally, he competes as part of the United States National Team at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China.
