Primoz Brezec: A Talented Center with an Extensive Career

Primoz Brezec is a Slovenian professional basketball player who currently plays for Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian VTB United League. He plays in the center position.

NBA Career

Brezec spent nine seasons in the NBA after being selected with the 27th overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in the 2000 NBA Draft. He had limited playing time with the Pacers, but in 2004, he was picked up by the Charlotte Bobcats in the expansion draft. Brezec was later traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2007 as part of a deal involving Nazr Mohammed.

In 2008, Brezec found himself playing for the Toronto Raptors, where he made an impressive debut against the New York Knicks, scoring 11 points and grabbing three rebounds in just 13 minutes of playing time. He returned to the NBA in 2009 with the Philadelphia 76ers and was eventually traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2010.

European Career

Before his NBA career, Brezec played in Slovenia's national championship league with Olimpija Ljubljana from 1998 to 2001. After leaving the NBA in 2008, he returned to Europe and signed with Virtus Roma in Italy. He later played for Krasnye Krylya Samara (2010-2011) and Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar (2011-2012) in Russia. In March 2012, he was traded to Nizhny Novgorod, where he currently plays.

International Career

Primoz Brezec is a member of the Slovenian national basketball team. He has represented his country in several major tournaments, including the FIBA EuroBasket (2003, 2005, 2009) and the FIBA World Cup (2006, 2010).
