Early Life and Education
Elijah Hall was born in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Raytown South High School. He then enrolled at College of the Sequoias in California, where he became the California Community College Athletic Association individual champion in both the 400m and the 400m hurdles in 2017.
Collegiate Success
Hall transferred to the University of South Carolina, where he achieved significant success in 2019. He won the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400m hurdles and also triumphed at the NACAC U23 Championships in the same event.
International Achievements
In 2023, Hall made his mark on the international stage at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. He secured a bronze medal in the 400m with a time of 44.37 seconds, and also contributed to the United States' gold medal in the 4x400m relay.
Olympic Glory
Hall's crowning achievement came at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. On August 7th, at the Stade de France, he surged to victory in the 400m. Running with wide strides and a powerful acceleration, he overcame a fifth-place start to cross the finish line with a personal best of 43.40 seconds. British sprinter Matthew Hudson-Smith set a European record but fell short by just 0.04 seconds.
