Biography of Rajeshwari
Rajeshwari is an Indian pop singer, actress, model, and MTV VJ. She was born on July 25, 1977, in Mumbai, India, to musician Trilok Singh Lumba. She has an older brother, film director Rishabh Lumba.
Early Career
In 1993, Rajeshwari made her acting debut in the Bollywood comedy film "Aankhen" (Eyes), followed by the Indian version of the popular Hollywood film "The Hard Way" titled "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" the following year. After the release of these films, Rajeshwari was invited to join the television show BPL Oye as a VJ, popular among teenagers.
Music Career
Later, Rajeshwari pursued a career in music. She recorded the song "Ta Ta Ra Ri Ra Ra" and showcased it to music companies. However, the music companies turned her down. So, she went to the Maldives, where her brother Rishabh filmed a music video for the song, giving it a new name - "Duniya." This music video marked the beginning of Rajeshwari's music career, and her debut album became platinum within a month of its release in 1997. Following the success of the album, Rajeshwari signed a contract with Coca-Cola, allowing her to perform a series of concerts throughout India.
Second Album and International Tours
In 1998, Rajeshwari collaborated with her father and brother to release her second album, "Pyar Ke Rang." The music video for this album portrayed Rajeshwari as a young girl separated from her lover. This image became popular, leading Rajeshwari to embark on a world tour. In addition to India, she performed in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
Current Career
Rajeshwari continues her career by recording new songs, performing live concerts, and appearing in films. She also hosts programs on MTV ("Baar Baar Dekho" and "MTV Ek Do Teen"), BBC ("Show on Indian Mythologies on BBC Quest"), and SAB TV ("Sab Gol Maal Hai").
