Aleksandrs Kolinko
Early Life and CareerAleksandrs Kolinko is a Latvian footballer who began his professional career at the age of 13 at the Riga sports school "Daugava." From 1983 to 1984, he played for Riga's "Daugava."
Playing Career in Latvia and Ukraine
In 1985, Kolinko moved to Liepaja, where he played for "Zvejnieks" in the second division. From 1988 to 1989, he was the main goalkeeper for "Volyn" in Ukraine, replacing local goalkeeper Mikhail Burch. In 1990, he joined the Ukrainian club "Karpaty Lviv," where he played from 1990 to 1992.
Return to Latvia and International Debut
In 1992, Kolinko returned to Latvia and played for "Skonto Riga," the country's leading club. During his time at Skonto, he helped the team win numerous championships and cups. From 1992 to 1998, he made 31 appearances for the Latvian national team.
Late Career and Retirement
In 1998, Kolinko had a brief stint with the Russian club "Fakel Voronezh." The following year, he returned to Latvia and finished his professional career with "Policija."
Post-Playing Career and Personal Life
After retiring from playing, Kolinko became the director of "UFC Skonto" in 2000. His son, Evgeny, is also a professional footballer and goalkeeper who has played for "Olimpe" and "Dinaburg."
