Early Life and Career

James "Jimmy" Bullard was born in East Ham, East London, on October 23, 1978. He began playing football for school teams in his hometown. His professional journey started with Corinthian, an amateur club in Kent. After a brief stint with Gravesend & Northfleet, Bullard caught the attention of West Ham United, his boyhood club.

West Ham and Peterborough

In 1999, West Ham signed Bullard for a fee of £30,000. However, he struggled to make an impact and was released as a free agent in 2001. He joined Peterborough United, where he impressed and earned a move to Wigan Athletic in 2003.

Wigan Star

At Wigan, Bullard blossomed into a star player. His performances in the Premier League earned him recognition as a talented midfielder. He became a key figure in the team's rise through the ranks.

Fulham and Hull

In 2006, Bullard returned to London, joining Fulham for a fee of £2,500,000. After three years with the Cottagers, he moved to Hull City in 2009 for a club-record £5 million.

International Career

Despite being born in England, Bullard's grandmother was German. He was considered for the German national team before Jürgen Klinsmann decided against it. In 2008, Fabio Capello called up Bullard to the England squad but never fielded him in the qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup.
