Biography of Rasim Balaev

Rasim Ahmedovich Balaev, a popular actor and People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, was born in the city of Aghsu. He graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Arts in 1969. Since 1972, he has been an actor at the Azerbaijanfilm Studio. He was awarded the Second Prize for Acting at the All-Union Film Festival in 1974. He also served as the first secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the Azerbaijan Republic and received the State Prize. He was honored with the title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1982.
